About Pete

The story behind the work.

I’m Pete Laverick — a former professional rugby player turned content creator, MC, entrepreneur, and accountability coach.
But the path here wasn’t linear. It was messy, uncertain, and exactly what I needed.

I grew up in the UK with one childhood dream: play professional rugby.
At 19, I signed for Exeter Chiefs while studying at university — a surreal moment that made every early morning, every injury, every sprint worth it.

But sport is unpredictable.
Careers shift. Identities get tested. And suddenly, I found myself asking a question I’d never prepared for:

“Who am I if I’m not an athlete?”

After leaving rugby, I transitioned into the tech world — a complete change of pace. It was structured, stable, respected… and it slowly made me feel like a spectator in my own life.
The spark wasn’t there.

So in 2021, I made a decision that didn’t make sense on paper:
I moved to Hong Kong with no plan other than to build a life that felt like mine again.

No guarantees.
No roadmap.
Just a belief that comfort wasn’t where I was supposed to be.

The Rebuild

Hong Kong became the turning point.

It’s where I picked up a camera for the first time.
Where I learned how to tell stories.
Where I rediscovered the feeling of backing myself fully.

Since then, things have grown in ways I never expected:

  • Hosting major sporting events like HYROX & NBA Macau

  • Building an audience of 100,000+ across platforms

  • Working with brands I genuinely admire — PUMA, IM8, Liverpool FC, JAL, Tatler, Nutrition Kitchen and more

  • Interviewing Olympians, entrepreneurs, creators and world-class performers on my podcast

  • Helping people build discipline, structure, and momentum in their lives — the very things I had to rebuild in my own

None of this was part of a master plan.
It unfolded because I made a promise to myself:
If an opportunity scares me and excites me, I’ll say yes.

What I Believe

Over time, I realised something:
Success isn’t about talent. It’s about consistency.
Environment.
Accountability.
And taking small, meaningful steps — every day.

I’m a big believer in:

Doing the work even when you don’t feel like it

Surrounding yourself with people who lift your standards

Backing yourself before anyone else does

Finding joy in the process, not just the outcomes

Showing up even when you don’t feel ready

These are the ideas that guide my work, my content, and my coaching — not because they’re trendy, but because I’ve lived them.

Today

Today, I split my time between:

  • Creating content that inspires performance, discipline, and personal growth

  • Hosting and presenting at major live sporting events

  • Interviewing high-performers on Abnormal, my podcast

  • Helping founders, creators, and everyday people build the systems and habits that move their lives forward

  • And continually pushing myself outside my comfort zone — because that’s where everything good in my life has happened

I don’t pretend to have all the answers.
But I do believe in asking better questions, taking bigger risks, and choosing the path that challenges you.

The best things in my life came from stepping into uncertainty.
If there’s one question that changed everything for me, it’s this:
“Why not me?”
